Where & How Do I Post My Avails?

Ah, the glamorous life of a comedian. One night you're crushing a set in front of 200 people, the next you're in your PJ pants posting “I’m available next weekend!” like you’re trying to get cast in a family BBQ.

So let’s talk about it.

Where do you post your avails, and how do you do it without feeling like a clingy ex with a mic?

First of All… What Are “Avails”?

If you don’t know, congratulations—you’re new. “Avails” = your available dates for gigs. It's how you let bookers know when you’re free to grace their stage (or their cousin’s wedding, or that dive bar with a dartboard directly behind the mic).

So… Where Do You Post Them?

1. Facebook Comedy Booking Groups

These are the comedy world’s underground railroad—equal parts opportunity and chaos.

ook for groups like:

  • “Comedians Booking Comedians”

  • “Comedy Avails & Bookings”

  • “National Comics Looking for Work”

Pro tip: Be specific. Instead of “Available next month,” try:

“Booking: NYC area Sept 12–17. TV-clean, club-tested, 25–45 mins. Clip in comments.”

2. Your Own Website

You DO have one, right? If not, scroll back to my post on websites and fix that immediately.

Add a “Booking” or “Tour” page and list your available cities and dates. It’s subtle but effective. Plus, it makes you look organized—which is not our industry’s strong suit.

3. Linktree or Beacons

These little bio-link tools are magic. You can toss your booking form, calendar, avails, and clips all in one tidy mobile-friendly page.

Just update it regularly and drop the link in your Instagram bio with something like:

“🎤 Booking info + clips + tour dates here 👇”

4. GigSalad / The Bash

These are platforms for booking entertainers (including comedians) for private gigs, corporate events, and more.

Pros: Calendar system, built-in leads.

Cons: Less comedy club-specific. And you might end up doing a gig in a backyard with a bouncy castle as your opener.

5. Your Newsletter or Socials**

If you’ve got a newsletter—even a casual “Hey friends, here’s where I’ll be!” email—that’s gold. Bookers read. Comics lurk. Someone always knows someone.

Post on socials like this:

“Open for bookings in Texas Oct 5–14. Will work for laughs and tacos. DM me!”

Wait… Won’t This Make Me Look Thirsty?

Honey. Thirst is how we survive in this business. Own it. Professional thirst is *hot*. You’re not desperate—you’re *bookable*. There’s a difference.

Bookers aren’t mind-readers. Make it easy for them to say yes. Post your avails, your clips, your vibe. Be polite, be clear, and for the love of Judy Garland, *be brief*.

More Thoughts:

Posting avails is like sending out party invites—you’re letting people know you’re open, fun, and ready to bring the energy. Don’t overthink it.

Just don’t do that thing where you post “I’m available anywhere, anytime!”
